At the centre of SPENS Biltong & Deli is Rensia van Aswegen, a devoted entrepreneur, wife, mom, and the kind of woman who believes that good food brings people together in the best way.
Coming from a big, close-knit family, Rensia’s happiest memories are rooted in the kitchen, where snacks were laid out before the game, biltong was never far from reach, and every family gathering turned into a feast of laughter and sharing.
She grew up with a deep love for flavour, tradition, and the joy of hosting, values that naturally shaped her vision for SPENS. Her dream was to create a place where people could find real, honest food, quality handcrafted goods, and gifts that feels like something special.
